Michael Myers is back!

Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Director/Writer, David Gordon Green.

The best news of 2017 was that another Halloween film will be coming out October, 2018. I don’t know about you guys, but I got very excited! The only news released was that it was to be directed by David Gordon Green (Joe), and written by Danny McBride (Pineapple Express), Green and the great John Carpenter (Halloween 1978). There were also rumors of Carpenter composing for this film as well. So already, this film has exceeded expectations.

After a few weeks of no new news, probably the best news of all came into circuit. JAMIE LEE CURTIS aka, Laurie Strode will be back facing off Michael Myers again! This news broke the internet, as well as a photo she posted on Instagram. McBride and Green mentioned that they wanted their film to take place after the first film, and completely forget the other sequels. This means that many years have passed, as it was said that Laurie will have a grand daughter (Judy Greer) in this one. We don’t know what the actually plot is, but Laurie surely won’t be the only Strode to fight off her older brother.

On the same note, the other spectacular news that came from the writers is that Nick Castle, THE ORIGINAL MICHAEL MYERS will be back! This is HUGE. Not only will Jamie Lee be back in Haddonfield, but so will her fictional brother. This will for sure bring back some nostalgia, and will be haunting to see their dynamic on the big screen once again.

That’s pretty much all of the major casting news, but big news it is.

I don’t know about you guys, but all of the set photos that are starting to get released give me goosebumps. One of them even featured Green holding the original slate from the 1978 film. If none of this is a throwback, I don’t know what it.

I’m so excited for this film, and it’s without a doubt the most anticipated movie of 2018. I can’t wait until more updates! Although I don’t want anything to give away, I’ll try my best to not learn to much about the film. Going into a movie blind is one of my favorite things; especially a new Halloween picture. Halloween has an October release date, so we’ll see you all in Haddonfield then!
